The Successes That Have Shaped BMW's Prestigious History

by Ben Pate

Some people don't realize that driving should be an exciting experience, not just a way of getting from A to B. If you are one of these people, take yourself over to BMW automobile dealer Agoura and hop behind the wheel of a brand new BMW. By doing this, you will soon start to feel the adrenaline rush. With a ride that's so smooth and an experience that is so exhilarating, you will suddenly understand just how unique a Bimmer is.

BMW has a pretty long and colorful history. It first started as a manufacturer for airplane motors. After World War I, however, the Treaty of Versailles forced them to shut down production. So instead, they started making motorcycles, then eventually cars.

The logo of BMW, that familiar symbol of quality car engineering, has quite an interesting story itself. The symbol - a circle cut into four quadrants shaded white and blue - are said to resemble the movement of airplane propellers in the sky. However, this story is currently being disputed, as there have been claims that this interpretation was only adopted for convenience's sake.

Moving back to the history, BMW's first vehicle, the Dixi, was released in 1928. This particular vehicle was the catalyst for BMW's production of cars, even thought it wasn't an original BMW design. However, once the Dixi hit the streets and people became aware, they quickly became big sellers.

In 1932, BMW's first original vehicle came into production, the AM4. This car was the leader in innovation among its peers, and people soon picked up on this. Only three years later, the 328 was produced. This vehicle was revolutionary, as it was a winning race car as well as a road car.

BMW soon faced financial trouble after the second World War and soon after, just before the year 1960, a meeting was held to decide whether or not to continue with the company. If it hadn't have been for those who still had faith in the company, BMW wouldn't be here today. More and more people were in the market to purchase and automobile, and the company took advantage of this fact.

In the year 1992, BMW put a brand new plant on American soil. Located in Spartanburg, South Carolina, this plant helped supply the loyal customer base in America with quality BMW's. Many different designs and models were released from this manufacturing plant to places just like your local BMW car dealers Orange County, making it easy for people in the United States and other parts of the world to get these luxury vehicles.

As you can see, BMW has a long and colorful history full of ups and downs. However, the driving experience of one of the cars from Orange County BMW Service has remained just as superb as it has always been. Always armed with the latest in innovative technologies, these vehicles promise to provide a not only safety and security, but an experience that is genuinely enjoyable. If you haven't test driven a car from your local BMW car dealers Agoura, take the time to try one out. You will be surprised to see just what you've been missing out on.
